HVX footage back up

Hi, we show in my country 2 feature films with my HVX200, We used to back up the cards in DVDs (the 8GB in a dual layer, and 4Gb cards in a regular DVD ), but now I have bigger cards, and I have to shoot a new short film, so I need to back up the footage. I was thinking to buy a Blu-ray burner to back up the footage. What would be your advice.
Best Regards

I would suggest purchasing multiple hard drives. Offload your cards to two hard drives at a time would give you redundancy in the event one drive goes bad. Drives are cheap these days. Personally I find them easier to work with than DVDs.

And much faster than DVD's. P2CMS will even copy from existing files to another HDD (verifying them in the process). Blu-ray is soooo slow and expensive as well. I would wait on the burner until you have to buy it for client wanting High Def DVDs.

thanks, now I´m backing up everything in a HDD, but I thought that a DVD or Blu-ray will last longer or will be less fragile.
Thanks
