We shot some B-Roll footage on Monday for a documentary. Here are a few clips shot at 720p 24. The shaky footage is because I had to shoot handheld (because of the stuation). It's 24 MEGS - H.264 (Quicktime 7)

EDIT:

Sorry Guys, Had to take the footage down. I'm about to exceed my limit. Thanks!

look good ... but is it me or is it a little blown out? The white shirts and the pavement in some shots.

was that just a necessary evil inorder to get the people correctly exposed, which can be more of an issue especially shooting persons of color on a bright day

Still looks good, just curious to know about that. I know sometimes the decision is made to go ahead and blow things out for other reasons but this looks like it was just a couple of stops too hot and could have been brought down.

thanks for posting,

Jack

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Yea, there's quite a few moments of "blow out". Everything was set to manual so depending on what the background was things could get a little toasty.
This is all strait off the P2 card - into avid - quick edits and no CC. I just wanted you all to see how the HVX holds up in completely un-controlled situations. Clouds would pass and then direct sunlight, people wearing white with dark skin, no tri-pod, people looking at me like I'm crazy (of course they were right). Even OIC on this camera works better then my DVX ever did.

I'm totally happy with what this baby can do (especially when compared to my DVX).

Looks great.. Love the police car audio.. ;-) Go GET EM COPPERS!
Thanks for posting it.. It's amazing to see everyones footage!

How many P2 cards were you working with? I'm afraid of doing doc work with this camera. What was shooting so much continuous footage like?
Thanks,
Chris

Hey Chris,

I have 2 4gig cards. That buys me 20 minutes (at 720p 24). We would shoot for about 20 minutes then dump the P2 to a USB drive. Takes about 10 minutes to dump the 8 gigs.
