does anyone know anything about the 16x9 inc. fisheye lens??

i had the extreme fisheye for my sony fx1 and that lens was 4 lbs and $3000 and i dont want to spend that much on a lens again. It was too much and too expensive. I saw that video on 16x9 Inc.'s website and the lens looks pretty good and i just want to see if anyone has heard anything about it. Its super light and about 600. thanks and let me know

Isn't the point of a fisheye lens barrel distortion?

The video looks good but I think there's a little vingetting in the top left corner.

yea man thanks
i film bmx and its really not necessary to be that close. I think this will be a much better lens for me, and i love that its so light. my fx1- xtreme fisheye setup killed my arm for lines.
thanks again the footy looked good

The 16x9 lens is waaaaay lighter than the extreme lens. You don't even "feel" that the lens is on.

I have that lens as well. Great for action when you need to get up close - horrible for any detail shots you may need. For example we did a shoot for a local Furniture store and wanted a very wide shot of their showroom floor. We tried to shoot with the 16x9 lens to really oversell the size of their floor but just couldn't live with how soft the image looked on the monitor. Then we take it out to shoot some skate footage for the new EA Skateboard game and the thing rocked the house.
