Hvx + Fcp 4.5

hey all... i'm having a hell of a time importing my HVX footage into FCP 4.5... i did a little research, but do i need the latest version of FCP to import and edit my footage?

Yes and no. You need at least FCP 5.0.1 to be able to import P2 footage. But you can edit DVCPro footage on FCP 4.5.

But if you're wanting to import HVX high-def footage from a P2 card, you need at least 5.0.4.

Hey, this is my first posting, I've been reading for months and learning a ton.

How about doing direct imports in FCP 4.5? I can get my HVX and FCP Log and Capture talking, and view live video in 720p, but every time I hit "Capture Now" it seems to crash and record nothing. (I have no P2 Cards).

My FCP Studio has shipped, but might still be a while until I get it so I'm just wondering if I can import into 4.5 without P2 cards.

Hey, sorry. I figured it out. Have to set the Device Control to "NonControllable Device". WORKS!!!
