HVX dual NTSC/PAL upgrade, why not?

Just as an aside, I'd be happy with a re-bootable camera - even to the extent of having to re-load a firmware module via firewire or P2 for each "switch" from NTSC -> PAL and back again. Convenience isn't the main drive here, which I'm sure you'd agree with - just the possibility to be working for different markets with one camera.

Hey, I agree there too -- I'd be plenty happy with it if all you had to do was execute a 20-second "reboot" to change to the other mode. But that's why I said earlier -- it would have to be designed from the ground up to do this. It's not "just another frame rate" that they could just plug in between 24 and 26; it'd have to be a dual-boot system like the other cams are.

Back to topic, I wouldn't have a problem if it took half an our to reboot. As long as it could do 24P, I would be satisfied.
