HVX component cable driving me nuts!!

Ok after much silence I have to ask...Is anyone else having trouble with their component cable constantly getting disconnected? I have a 35mm adapter setup with a marshall flipped and the cable is by far the weakest link. Everytime I move the dang camera the cable gets disconnected, so annoying. Has anyone come up with a solution to remedy this problem, or is it simply time for a new cable, what's the deal? Thanks for any help

I had 2 broken cables so far, both have been replaced by my dealer...
The D4 connector is a POS. but actually the cheap RCAs broke in my case...
(the second cable ending up broken, was only used twice in a studio invironment BTW, so no hard use...)

You might want to replace with the Canon D4 cable used on the XL-H1. it's much better than the Panny. But basically that D4 connector sucks, it's one of the main reasons I moved to the HPX-170, SDI connector is much better than the stupid D4.

I've found that strain relief is quite important with the component cable, or else...oh man. It goes quick.

Definitely, I always use a clothespin on the handle strap as a strain relief.

The new connector on the HPX-170 is much better though, it is basically like the Sony connector, but larger. If it does get yanked out accidentally, it's not going to damage the camera either since it goes straight out the back.

Absolutely agree that the new component connector seems to be a million times better than the HVX200's. Even though it seems more of a consumer style, it at least feels like it locks in securely. I just got my 170 so I haven't had any long-term tests with the cable, nor will I likely do so (I have HD-SDI input on my monitor so I'll be using that instead) but it sure does seem like the new component connector should be a lot better than the old one.

thanks for the input guys...I totally spaced I posted this until today. I was G&E on a shoot last night and the HVX200 was all suped up with the PS technik monitors the whole deal, and I notied the 1st AC literally had a monitor in one hand and was pulling focus with the other...didn't seem like he was having any issues with the cable popping out and it sparked my memory. Thanks again.
