HVX Clip Playback Problems

I know a few people here have had problems playing back the HVX footage that has been posted. I just don't know if any solutions have been offered. Essentially, I download the entire file to my computer first. Then I try to play it back on the most recent version of Quicktime. However, it always says that I am missing some piece of software. I went to the Quicktime site and there are tons of third party software available. I download some of them, but Quicktime still says I am missing software. Exactly what software am I missing, and how do I get Quicktime updated to play back these clips? Thanks in advance.

Deadzone, I had the same problem myself. Assuming you're using a Mac (and FCP) do the following to resolve the issue:

1. Install the most recent version of QT (you have it already).
2. Uninstall FCP (there's a program called FCP Dump that might do it). Otherwise, trash the FCP icon. Go to LIBRARY - RECEIPTS and trash all receipts that say Final Cut Pro.
3. Re-install FCP.

That should take care of it.

Good luck!
