Hi guys!

I am aware the DVX has a 4:3 sensor 4.8x3.6mm. Would it be valid to say the HVX has a 6.4x3.6mm sensor?

No, probably not. But we don't know the exact dimensions either. It should have a comparable diagonal measurement to the 4:3 sensor, which should make it somewhere around 5.25 x 2.95 mm. But different manufacturers use different sizes; the JVC sensor is smaller than the HVXs, and the Z1s sensor is a bit larger, so -- unless someone wants to pull off the lens and measure, I don't know how we can know for exactly sure.

Maybe Spec-Comm has a disassembled HVX and can measure and tell you?
 
If we set the lens wide open to 4.2mm, and shoot some sort of millimetric chart at a known distance. We can calculate the chip size. Too time consuming, anyone have a disassembled HVX around :)
