HVX-Brevis35 @ Battery Park

I just got back from trying out the HVX and Brevis35. Don't have the focus thing down yet since I can't use a magnet. I had to use a portable DVD player for framing (hard as hell) and the LCD for focus (even harder). Here is a screenie out of Edius then brought into photoshop to flip and add text.
DVCpro50 720pn was the setting.

Aram! Full RES!!!! 720P mang!!!

Read closer, if you click on the image it gives you the full rez. :)

I have cinefuse#1 and the lens is some cheap Canon mount sears Zoom.

Jeeps Aram, those grabs define the term "organic". It's timeless DVX/HVX colour ... and why the "panalook" preset is my favourite on the XH-A1! Sears probably never figured on a cheapo zoom being used in quite this manner :-)

Hopefully todays stuff is a little sharper. Today I nixed the DVD player for viewing and just flipped the image in my mind for framing. It got pretty easy after the first few times.

Your stuff looks great. I figured cf1 when I caught just a whiff of vignetting in some of the shots. How are you stopping down? External ND filters, internal, splitting apertures? I can't stop down much at all on cf3 without it getting grainy fast but I haven't experimented with cf1 much. Take Care.

Aram, these pics look great! Congrats!

any chance of posting the actual footage?

Also, Could you please specify configurations and settings and which lenses, etc

Thanks guys. Yeah that lenses give a slight vignette but hey, its bottom barrel. I have been stopping down with the iris on the camera for most, sometimes I play with the fstop on the lense but pretty much leave it open. ND filter for the bright stuff, which ones I don't remember. Todays shots look different because I didn't save my settings from yesterday which I did to match the settings I like on my DVX. Today I think everything was at zero except I turned Master Ped to -4 and the detail level +4. I didn't mess with the chroma or color temp today because after I saw the settings where gone from yesterday, I wanted to see how the colors come out if I don't mess with it too much.
That old man which happened to be on the boardwalk is a friends father. I was setting up the camera and I heard this familar voice among a crowd of people hanging out. I turned around and was like, that sounds like Bam's pops. Low and behold it was.

I'm uploading a quicktime now which will be here:
