HVX/BREVIS 35MM Adaptor Footage

Just so you know - nothing personal - but wmv's don't play nicely on my system...so I didn't get to watch it.

Not sure what the other 176 people's excuse is..but thats mine.

yeah this is a slideshow in wmv player on a macbook pro, and doesn't do much better in vlc player. definitely worth compressing again... what compression software are you using? i'd drop the frame size... when it's so compressed, it's pointless to keep it at 1280x720. scale it down to something like 640x360, use a constant bitrate of around 1500 kbps or variable with a limit of the same. that'll be much higher quality than the average stream and at least more folks can watch it and give feedback. you can always post stills if you feel the compression doesn't do it justice.

in what i saw - nice framing on the closeups (the slight pan on the braiding is cool - after the first 2 seconds or so the movement seems accidental though), good timing on the rack focus with the girl, and a nice shot at the end. i would go tighter and a bit lower with that last shot, especially if you're trying to imply an eyeline from the subject in the background. the right third of the frame isn't really doing anything for me.

all meant to be constructive criticism - thanks for posting..!

Thank you Luis, sokitumi and Filmboy77. I'm pretty new to all this, so I wasn't aware that there were these types of playback issues. I'm glad to finally get some feedback, so that I can learn and improve what I'm doing.

I especially appreciate all of your feedback sokitumi. Constructive critisim is always welcome. And, thank you for the suggested settings for compression. I will definitely give them a try.

If anyone else has any suggested settings, I would love to try those as well. Always willing to learn.

Thanks.

It really is near impossible to guage / judge anything that is compressed. The background is obliterated by the compression.

Post some full sized, lossless stills.
