I just finished the first of a two-day shoot and I've encountered a problem that I cannot figure out! Shooting with an HVX200 w/16GB P2 cards on 720/24PN with an M2 adapter. Audio was recorded by plugging the boom mic directly into channel 2 and setting both channels on the HVX to channel 2.
When we first started shooting, our boom operator reported hearing a "beep-beep" sound (kind of like the old-school Casio digital watches, not like a cell phone) as soon as we pressed the record button and continuing until we pressed the button again and stopped recording. We tested it, played back the footage and sure enough, the beeping was there. It was soft enough so as to not overwhelm the speaking parts and we were pressed for time so we had to move on and keep shooting. At the end of the day, we downloaded our clips into FCP and checked them and the beeping was still there on all the clips.
I've used this camera and this shooting configuration many many times and have never encountered this. I've gone through the menus, the HVX book and tried everything I could think of but I can't make it go away. Please please can anyone help? Has anyone run into this before? I'm desperately trying to fix this before our second day of shooting tomorrow.
