HVX avail. and pricing

B&H (link) now has them in stock. I don't know what a "normal" price is, but you should make every effort to buy from an authorized dealer and try to get as far under the MSRP of $5,995 as you can for just the cam alone (obviously at B&H that will be a problem, but there are many other authorized dealers, so try to shop around).

In the current market, $5,300 seems to be a good deal. Anything significantly lower is likely to be a gray-market cam.

Thanks for the reply! Anyone else with info on stores with them in stock and pricing info? The price isn't a HUGE deal but I shouldn't expect to pay retail should I???

I think $5300 is towards the bottom of the scale, most sellers seem to be in the range of $5400-$5600 aren't they?

Barry, I've seen $5,276. It was quoted in March from an authorized dealer (and I've got it written down here). I can recheck the vendor.

Panasonic has a promo going through there distributors. If you have one local try them first, they can actually do it for about 500 or more in some cases under msrp.

I have followed DVXUser for quite a while now but this is my first post.

I am from Armato's Pro Video in NY ( Not one of those Brooklyn places). We currently have HVX200's in stock. These are new USA Warranty.
We are a Panasonic Authorized dealer - just ask Jan.
They are selling for $5450.00
Ask for Alan for the DVXUser discount for an extra $150.00 off.
1-800-628-6801
Limited quantity in stock.

Also have available 4 Gig P2 Cards.

Thanks for your time.
Alan

The Camera with the DVX Discount is $5300.00.
I have several 4 Gig P2 cards at the moment for $615.00 each when you purchase it with the camera.
No 8gig cards in stock.

Thanks
Alan

I paid 4500 for a grey market, factory fresh, no US warranty, but got a 4 year extended for $299 from Mack.. I can bring it to a panasonic authorized dealer anytime I have a problem ;-) Was worth saving $1000.. Basically your just buying a camera without the US warranty.. It comes with every part, and manual and everything..
It's the worst place to buy, but I didn't have a choice $$ wise.. I wanted 2 - 8 gig cards, and the extra $1000 was gonna break my bank..

If you call and ONLY get the camera, you will be fine with www.bwayphoto.com
Dont get ANYTHING ELSE.. Don't argue with them, there customer service SUCKS! but just remember $1000 dollars, $1000 dollars!

Samy's was selling HVXs for $5,100 on the floor. Either take with you or they will ship free at that price.

B&H was also selling a package with the HVX, 4GB Card and an Impact Digital Video Camcorder Bag (not the best, but a good place to at least store the camera B&H# IMDVCB) for $5,744 at the show and through May 7th. Use order code NAB06001 to get that price. I ordered mine at the show but waited until I got home to confirm it with my credit card. No problems, got tracking # today, and saved CA sales tax!

Good Luck,

Rob
