hvx and live events

I shoot a lot of live events off a tripod. They often last for 2 hours. I would like to know if it is possible to capture directly to a macbook pro in HD and if so can i be recording a sd tape at the same time?

Mike, You the search feature this forum has to offer, there are more than a handful of theads talking about this. thanks
 
Yes, you can record DVCProHD directly to your hard drive using FCP. You cannot record anything but DV (DV25/MiniDV) to tape.
