HVX and FIG RIG

Has anyone used the Fig Rig with the HVX.Any feedback on your experiences? Also is there a control device to go with it so you can stop/start recording without taking ones hands off the wheel so to speak? Ia it the same controller that works with the DVX?

My lighting guy has used one and loves it. I'll probably be adding the fig rig at or just after NAB.
I played with it at last NAB. I wouldn't call it a great "stablizer" as some claim, including by lighting guy. But it can help you get some great fluid high to low and follow the talent shots.

We already have the Varizoom and will be using it on the fig rig. Focus/Iris/Zoom and start/stop.

You can indeed use the same Manfrotto zoom/rec contoller as worked with the DVX (I think it's the 521P).

I do not like it, or anything else that is hand supported.
It is just too heavy to do that for any sustained period of time.

I have one and will sell it.
I used it once and it is not for me.

Maybe I am not strong enough to do the hand held thing.

Hey whimp, errr Green hornet, :-Happy(DBG):
Let me know how much you want for it.
PM me.

I don't see it for all day shooting either. But it is a decent tool for specific shots.

I use it all the time. The camera and remote combined with the fig rig is an easily manageable weight. I use it all the time, in multi day shoots. Oh, unless you meant 'literally' shooting all day, I definately don't do that. I put it down when theres nothing happening, then I don't get so tired.

I used it for some handheld stuff in a short I shot...it came in handy...not sure if I love it or not, but I would use it again if I saw a need.

I did one shot where a character lies back quickly and I floow them sideways...great steering wheel action.

And I did a lot of handheld at 48fps with a little more floaty effect following a character...again the steering wheel aspect helped the floaty look.

Children need encouragement. If a kid gets an answer right, tell him it was a lucky guess. That way he develops a good, lucky feeling.
