HVX aimed at sun??

I would like to shoot a timelapse of a sunrise and I was wondering if it was bad for the camera to be pointed at the sun for a long period of time. I have a UV filter on it.

I'd add the ND filters and maybe a polarizer or something else to cut down on the exposure.
I've been doing just that twice a day in Hawaii for sunrise and sunset and have had no issues at all.

i think sunrise and sunsets have a very different level of light compared ot noon sunlight. id be careful when and where you point that thing for long periods of time during the day, but at sunrise and sunset you should be okay with a polarizer and the ND's

shot a whole bunch of them.. can view at..

Various grads and Grad ND.. mainly crokin filters.. and at that stage did not have a holder so just tapped them to the lens with gaffa...

I'm not convinced the lens has the best looking Newton rings... kind of star like... but much better than allot of the other cheaper lens...

Cheers
