Heres a sample of HVX aerials and scenics. All footage shot at 24pn /720.


For comparison, Three shots in this piece were shot in SD with XL-1. So you may see a few shots that appear to be a wee bit blurrier.

For any questions on the support gear I used feel free to fire away.

The smooth handheld was done with a mix of techniques. It's truly handheld with no GYRO or mount of any kind.

I try to use three things to help get the shot: OIS , Century .6x Wide with Schnieder Shade , an LCD monitor going to the Pilot so he can help with holding the frame correctly.

i noticed the UFC stuff...which im a big fan of MMA ...did you guys shoot some of the events? or Did you guys shoot and cut the pre-fight promo's with them?
 
I shot three fights. I did the shooting and lighting of all the interviews and scenic b-roll for the show. Basicly I am the "eng" specialty crew for a show. Therefore I shoot everything but the fighting itself. It was all shot either Beta-sp or Varicam. The "real" lenses are really necessary to get the accurate movement techniques we incorporate to liven up the pre-fight posing sequences with fighters. We use dramatic lighting, mist, and lots of snapped zooms combined wth radical & unpredictable movement, all with-in good composition guidelines. Steve
