HVX accessories...

I have an old Panasonic monitor that I currently use, and a 3 year old HP laptop with an Intel R Celeron (R) CPU with 2.8 gh, and 1gb of memory. Please spare me the dinosaur jokes :)

If I go with the HVX will I HAVE TO up grade monitors? Will my laptop work for a HD/P2 workflow (using Vegas)?
 
Well I edit DVCProHD with a 20" TV monitor so your monitor is probably better than that... Dunno on the Laptop, I know Premiere would probably run, it would just be so slow I wouldnt use it. Doesnt Vegas need Raylight to use MXF's? I'd look into the minimum specs from them and Sony maybe.
 
I'm sorry jdajda, I didn't make myself clear. I was referring to a field monitor.

This forum talks a lot about the focus issures of the HVX. With that said, would I NEED an HD monitor in the field or could I get by with my 13'" Panasonic SD monitor?
