The second week of November 06 was an eventful one, as Inter BEE (International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition), Japan's answer to NAB.
Panasonic showed mock-ups of two new P2 shoulder-mount camcorders: an HVX500, which will do everything the HVX200 will, only with 2/3-inch chips, five P2 slots, and interchangeable lenses; and an HVX2000, a 2/3-inch 3-chip, 24p camera with optional support for the AVC-intra codec. On Panasonic's beauty-shot stage, an HVX900 stood alongside a Varicam and a number of HVX200s for attendees to test drive.
