HVX 2nd Shipment Delay Due to FIRMWARE Upgrade?

Hello everyone,

I just received an email from an eBay seller (from Tokyo Japan) of an HVX with this message:

"I was informed, panasonic postponed second shipping. coz of firmware update is required for this camera. Panasonic decided to update and make delay of delivery. so I can't give you confirmed delivery date. if I get new information, I email you."

I wonder how true this is and how long this firmware update will take???

If they can correct the noise issues, I'd wait as long as a month. Heck if they can re-engineer the CCDs to make them compete with the XL H1's noise level's, I'd wait 5 months.

Can anyone confirm this?

I actually hope this is true.

I'd rather have the camera right!

I am concerned about noise levels. If there's a fix,
please do so.

Steve

Classy answer...

Look who's the pot calling the kettle black. Give it up. If you don't believe Jan, that's your perogative. Don't berate her when you're comparing her word versus an ebayer from out of the country.

This is total garbage!!!!! Ebay reseller just covering his little gray market self.

Best,

Jan

Grey market! I'd say there's a hell of a lot of GRAY surrounding your market at present - lot's of gray unfullfilled promises who have no information about the mystery 29th Dec shipment....... try posting something informative for all the fretting people who've already given their hard earned cash over for your product - including myself!

me thinks you take yourself far too seriously, grasshopper!

no worries though, I will apologize for you -- "Sorry Jan."

(kinda makes one wonder how many of these fresh mouths are actually going to buy a $6000 camera, doesn't it).

Sorry Jarred, but it seems things are getting a little out of control with the disrespect thing. Probably ought to delete 'em (including this one).

Did you actually read my post - I have paid already. Disrespect is what I call the silence from Panasonic to prePaid customers who just want to know what's going on - professionals with commitments to thier clients that will be broken if Panasonics commitments are broken.......

Jesus, it's been less than a week and already many of you are ready to march to Tokyo with lighted torches and pitchforks. Let's be realistic here. Logistically, it takes time to get product from factory to your doorstep. I would recommend showing more restraint and patience.

I will admit, I was bummed about hearing EVS only receiving three cameras total. Only three! I also prepaid in full and was looking forward to shooting my first HD project by mid January.

I don't want to wait another month, but I can wait.

Look at the bright side....that gives everyone who pleaded for wmv files to upgrade their edit systems so they can actually see the footage they plan to shoot.:engel017:

From the demo footage I saw of the XLH1, of the "watchmaker" and the "italy" footage, the noise levels are already comparable. But let's wait until next week when I can put 'em side by side in the same room, probably with Shannon Rawls, the internet's #1 Canon supporter so you know there won't be any anti-Canon bias going on! :)

I don't care what Jarred says about you, you're alright in my book!

Hey, I for one am glad that Jan can come in here and not only talk to us as a professional, but as one of " the boys". I prefer her answer to the stereotypical represenatative b.s. we usually hear.

I don't care what the lady in the wheelchair that got run over by you says, you're alright in my book.

Look forward to seeing that comparison. Are we going to see footage of the furniture store lady again?

Which one? There were two...

And no, not in this comparison. But maybe on the HVX DVD...
