HVX 200A vs Rebel T2i

After 2 long years I'm finally getting ready to shoot my Short! Over the last 2 years I have gone back and forth on what I should shoot it on. First it was the XHA-1 by it self since that was all i had at the time. Then I got the HVX 200A and thought that would be a much better option. Still unsure I bought an Encroe and a nice set of Nikon lenses. At this point I was sure that the HVX 200A with Encore was the way to go. Then the Canon SLR madness came Mark II,7D,Rebel T2i. Of course I had to get in on it so got myself the Rebel T2i with some nice Canon USM L lenses. So now I'm thinking the Rebel and maybe the mark II is the way to go and maybe a little of the XHA-1 with the Encore since they would match. The only problem with that is that I would be wasting my HVX-200A and all the P2 Cards I have? There Film has about 4 Day Int. 2 Night Int and about 3 Outdoor Day Int. Anybody have any ideas of what I should use? Would it be bad to use all of them in different scenes?

As long as you don't try to cut directly together similar shots you can use whatever camera fits the situation. Pull out an HDSLR for shallow DoF close up, stick with the HVX for wide and some action. I loved the HVX, and my 7D is awesome... they just have different strengths.

i wouldnt go mixing a bunch of cameras just because a marketing flier or website told you that a certain one was the way to go.
any one of the cameras you mentioned can do the whole effort if used properly (lights, sound, etc...)

the first question to ask yourself is, how TRULY important is depth of field? does it REALLY add to your narrative? or are you just convinced you need it?
second question is how much does low light come into play in your project and do you have budget for lights and the know-how to use them...

We have a good DP and should have a lot of good lighting as well from Brooks Inst. There is really only one low light scene.

id say stick with your 200a then. it has typical industry standard audio I/O and the codec is easiest to work with of all you mentioned...

Im thinking of mixing Canon Rebel T2I with hvx 200. But of course i do some test before. I just want to use the canon for closeups of products. I would be interested to here if other here have had sucess of intercut these cameras.
