HVX 200A settings to send 720p via firewire to Adobe Premiere Pro

I want to record HD form my HVX200A to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. I simply can't activate the HVX 200A in my Premiere pro CS4 connected via Firewire.
SD output works via firewire with Premiere, but with HD (not in native mode) it doesn't work. It either says, "Can't activate camera", or "camera offline". (although it says the camera is detected (not offline) and I only get a black screen.

What are the main important settings in the menue of the camera to get Compressed HD out of the firewire port?
Or maybe it is a wrong setting in Premiere? ( I tried both SD and HDV as capture format settings - the only choices I have there - but I know that it is neither of them...)

Any suggestions very welcome!

THanks Mike

Thanks for the answer. You are right OnLocation does the job, but it records in either .avi1, .avi2, or .mov files, am wondering which one of those captures in a quality which is comparable to the quality recorded to the P2 card? Any infos on that available?
Strangely, Premiere Pro CS4 offers in it's sequence presets: DVCPRO HD 720p 24/50/60p. So it is capable of editing these formats, but it can't capture live. Strange!

They all store the exact same data that would have been stored in the P2 MXF files. The recorded image quality is identical.
