HVX 200a increased video noise maybe?

My HVX is 3 years old and I seem to notice a lot more video noise lately. None of my video shoots have changed lighting wise or anything and I haven't really noticed so much noise before.

Updating the latest firmware last week has really been the only change I've made to the camera.

I was wondering if it's possible for me to have damaged a sensor or worn it down over the years somehow?

This message is a bit spooky because I could have written the exact same issue. A 3 year owner that recently noticed there much more noise or grain in the picture. My cam has been well cared for and its getting to be a problem.

I have two clips uploaded (which are big) of HD shots. One is my keying on green screen showing some noise, and the other was just shot today with a gal on green screen. It was shot at 1080 / 30p if I remember right. They are at www.jlfx.com/downloads the second video is uploading now, so it may be a few minutes...

Please let me know if others are seeing the same things. Im sure we would all like to know if there is a growing and more serious issue.

I read somewhere online that both Cinelike gammas on the 200 and 170 are noisey. (or noisey-er)

What is Black balance exactly? And how do you set this? Does something black need to be in the frame?
