when a camera has a lots of hours how does affect the camera or pictures? and is it worth it to buy hvx 200A with 500 hours $2000? please help b4 i buy it thak u.

The hours alone shouldn't affect performance. How well or poorly a camera has been treated during those hours (regardless of whether it's hour no. 1 or hour no. 1,000) is what matters.

What do u mean by that when u say treated ? and how do I know that how it has been treated? thank you for you help. i==

The hours only matter for the tape deck. If they never used the tape deck, or if you won't be using it, then that shouldn't matter.

About how the camera was treated:

Did they take good care of it?

Was it exposed to dusty, dirty areas where dust and dirt could get inside the camera?

Was it exposed to water, where the inside of the camera could get wet?

Was it ever dropped? Or handled roughly, which could cause parts to get broken or damaged?

Those are the kinds of scenarios you need to think about. Even if you ask about the history of the camera, people aren't always honest if they've manhandled their equipment or exposed it to elements. So mostly what you want to look for is: how does the camera look? Does it look like it's been abused? Is it dirty?

Thoroughly test out the performance. Dirt or water inside the camera will effect the performance of the camera. Make sure EVERYTHING is in good working order.

If parts are broken or missing, know what they are and how expensive it is to replace them. The mic holder & mic holder adapter are very easy to break (or loose) and often need replace, they aren't very expensive, so it's not a very big deal. But the flip out LCD screen, is easily broken if the camera is dropped or manhandled, is very expensive to repair/replace.

If you're not sure, you might want to have it serviced before committing. Like taking a used car to a mechanic before buying it.
