HVX-200 user - getting a Canon D5 MII

Well...

I'll start that by saying this... I really like my HVX-200, but I don't LOVE it.... I've had the camera for nearly 2 years now... It's paid for itself, and the P2 media, so I can't complain about it in that way. It got me off of tapes, and into HD. I work in a different manner then I did two years ago, and it's an improvement in so many ways.

That being said, for the purpose of my work, and the volume level that I needed to shoot, a greater portion of my shooting was SD. Alot of my work was longer form interviews and B-roll, following subjects throughout the course of a lengthy projects- so HD was a concern for offloading in the field (one man banding it much of the way), and overall storage etc etc.. Not to say I didn't shoot HD, because I did, and I obviously liked the HD footage considerably more than SD. But, I never loved the images coming off the HVX as much as I did (and in some cases, do still) the DVX.

That being said, after much contemplation, I'm diving in for a Canon D5 mark II as an accessory to my kit. I understand ALL of this camera's limitations, and I'm not asking it to replace my HVX, which I will keep and will still use in most all situations, mostly as a second cam, and recording audio, and long shooting circumstances (live shows, etc etc) But there are so many times when I want much less noise, shooting in very low light verite situations, and I'll get lens options.

I really think the D5, (along with the Zoon 4HN) is the answer to some of my biggest complaints about the HVX... I know it's a completely different instrument and media... but I'm willing to give it a go...

Does anyone else here shoot withe the D5 MII and an HVX and have any opinions / thoughts??
