Hvx 200 Resolution Chart Footage

Oh lol, thought you were wondering if it was a mac only file. If your'e a pc user you still need an nle like avid.

cmon! Do I really need to rush to the mac station at CompUSA every time I want to see some cool HVX footage?

We shot a res chart today at every possible mode (i think, there are a lot of them!).
Hopefully Mike at HDforIndies will have that up sometime tomorrow.

I'm excited to see it too :)
I only had a short while with the camera - and had another friend of mine there who was checking it out for the first time - so we shot up until the last moment we had.

Point is, Mike has all the footage and I haven't even been able to see it myself.
Can't wait to see some of the 60:24P stuff on the monitor :)

By the way - I just noticed my new moniker.
Too cool, thanks.

I'll be getting DVDs of the footage from Mike tomorrow (hopefully).
There should be some stills/footage up sometime tomorrow I would think (mike's taking care of that)

No joke - we stopped shooting, I hooked up the cam to the computer so Mike could copy the footage over, and I was out the door. So I'd rather wait on making any comments until I can actually sit down and review the stuff.

Honestly I'm more interested in being able to see some of the outdoor footage we shot.

Luis, para vos, are you Mike's friend?...aren't you? Congrats to him regarding his excellent and unique website but, please, whisper @his hears that it would be interesting also some info @PC_side for us, PC users. Muchas gracias!

BTW, good article!

I offer two of the Kaku Ito's charts from my home FTP server to download in TIFF for PC users. All other questions about the charts you should address to Kaku Ito

if I download the tiff, then I just see the first line with the triangles (and some chromatic aberration) and the rest of the page / chart is hidden behind download errors (false pixels around the whole page).... must be the download process.... I'll try and save first the picture on my PC...

Thanks SJUSER anyway! - I'm always glad to see some of the few HVX picture with my PC... and if Mr. Blonde says that it seems to be between 700 and 750 lines, then I can live without opening the tiff :) would be interesting now to see the performance of other cameras with the same chart and circumstances (because I don't believe in numbers of 2 different sources...).

I can quote the German magazine VideoAktiv Digital, Dec/Jan 2006, Issue 1, page 10 (see photo below) that Canon XL1 has about 800 lines and Sony Z1 has about 610 lines. So Panasonic HVX200 should be in the middle or has about 600-750 lines.

Can somebody do the exact counting and confirm the numbers from the HVX res-charts?
