HVX 200 Project ( Mission Impossible Spoof )

Hi,
I made this short corporate film about a year ago using an hvx200 with a firestore / PowerMac G5 / FinalCut Pro / AfterEffects and some pretty cheep sound equipment. I am a full-time software developer but have been thinking about starting my own video production company. This project was just something fun that the owners of the company ( where I was employed at the time ) let me do. I had done a similar project for them and consumer grade equipment in the past and they liked it enough that the bought some new equipment just for this little project :-) Anyway I am curious what some real video production people think of it. Everybody from my previous company enjoyed it very much, but there are a lot of inside jokes, so I don't know how appealing it would be to a larger auidience. So I am not so much looking for a review of the subject of the movie but more for the techniques used. I am very interested in getting some REAL feedback, and don't worry you won't hurt my feelings if you say something bad. I need to know if I can make a future out of this or if I should keep my day job! You can view it here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-465896127518290898&hl=en . Sorry Google video really downrezes their videos, quality was much better in 720p but that copy is too big.

Real nice job. I was impressed with the writing, editing, most of the sound and even the acting/directing was good. Loved the Etch-a-Sketch too.

I think you need to quit your day job immediately. Where are you located?

Thanks for the comments pcascio. I currently live in Raleigh, NC, but I was living and working in Greenville, SC when I made this film. I took a new job back in september and had to move to Raleigh, but I have regretted it ever since. At my old job I got to do fun little movie projects, that were completely unrelated to my job. Now I only get to do work stuff and I really miss the video projects I got to do.

You did a very good job man! I was really impressed at the shooting that you did and even though the acting was a little stiff, it kind of suited a spoof. I was quite happy with your work and would probably hire you if ever needed. Good job man! Sorry about how you can't do any of those video projects anymore... Maybe you will start that production company and do things that you truly enjoy!

Haven't had a chance to watch the whole thing (I'm at my day job, which I should quit), but so far I loved the mailcart-cam! Very smooth.
