HVX 200 project Far East

I consider to purchase a HVX200a and want to take the camera to Far East. Being on the road far away from home I am a bit afraid of the practicality of the P2 workflow for such a project. Based on earlier experiences with a DVX100 (sold it a couple of weeks ago) I expect shooting approx. 30 - 35 hours HD material. Besides some P2 cards (I think 2 or 3 32GB cards should be sufficient) it will also require a huge back up capacity (approx. 2 TB). All together it will be a lot of peripheral equipment that must be carried around.

Has anybody experiences with similar situations? Is there a practical way to use the P2 technology or are tapes still the better way to go (e.g. Canon XH A1)?

i can't speak from traveling experience as i just got my 200a last week, but if i was in your situation and had to leave today, i would go hvx all the way. you will LOVE the p2 workflow. if for no reason other than you can drop your footage on a laptop immediately after you shoot, make some rough edits and check your shots in the field, it's so worth it. plus, two 1 terrabyte drives are around the same size as 35 mini dv tapes you know? not to mention all the shooting options the hvx opens up. and the hd footage is freakin beautiful.

like i said, the only experience i have is my few days with the 200a. having just upgraded from the dvx100b, i say hvx all the way.
