I was wondering if the release date will be the same for the PAL model as it will be for the NTSC model.
Anyone have any info. I did search on the forum and could not find anything on it so my appologies if this has already been addressed.

Thanks

Pany said Jan - Feb, then Feb - March.

Plan on being able to get hold of one around NAB 2006!

Personally I object to that kind of a wait, even if it is February.

We don't want to hurry Jan else we get units with child deceases !!!!
In the mean time you can save some money for some P2 cards :-))

Like the DVX100E->100AE->100BE? Because it was a fix not a new product even others stating something else. Nothing wrong with it. They have to fix and release a better product all the time. But I can tell you if you wait 50 more years you can buy a much much better camcorder.

P2 cards is the main problem here. If something can stop users to buy this camcorder than it is the P2 card. For those who are making money in this business it isn't a problem but an indie dreaming of success it is. During the 1.5 year the hole package will loose 40-50% of its value.

If I was Panasonic than I will sell the camcorder for 7000,- and max 500,- for the P2 card. It would sell this camcorder as nothing before.

I read on the Australian panasonic site December too. I hope so. It looks like i will be buying two for the school i work at.

I agree that the P2 situation is tough. What would you suggest? I like to hear other's idea's.

Sergei, our HVX-Club members will be able to rent 2 P2 cards for a period of 2 weeks for only $350 with free shipping both ways. That will allow you to make your movie and then return the cards, having paid less than 9% of their value, and then wait until their price drops. We already ordered 100 cameras with 100 P2 cards, so we should have plenty for sales and rentals when the time comes. Please email me at rush@evsonline.com for more info.

The beauty of the P2 cards, is that you never have to roll a frame of expensive DVCPRO-HD tape. Can you imagine buying 4 of these tapes for a one-day shoot?

That is your 2-week rental of 2 P2 cards right there. $400 right out the door. And don't forget the new Focus Enhancements FS-4, that will record DVCPRO-HD through the firewire port of the HVX200. You can put a whole shoot day on that drive, then dump it to your timeline when you get home. :cheesy:
