hvx 200 first firmware update

ok, it seems all the updates are in the most recent update because I now have the hour counter as well.

I read somewhere there is software so that allows you to see how many times an e series p2 card has been used. Does anyone have info on that?

Hi bosindy,

The link you provided is correct. You are looking for firmware 4.10 which includes all in between updates and covers the E series of 16Gb and higher.

I believe with the E series cards as they get close to their end of life you will see a warning on the LCD/Viewfinder display. Used once a day, every day, you will get roughfully 5 years of service out of the E series.

Thanks for the comment Stephen, I just read that the p2 formater has the ability to tell you the amount of use of the e series cards in addition to the warning that comes close to the end. Not sure how it works but I plan to download it and figure it out. If anyone has experience with it let me know. I just bought a 64G for a doc I have begun and I want to keep track of the use bc I will likely sell the card after it is all over.

I successfully updated the camera. I wish you didn't need the pc/sd card deal to update it but it is what it is. (for those buying pc's stay away from Acer.)

Hi bosindy,

Good to hear about the firmware update. You are correct about the Panasonic P2 Formatter Software will give you a running indication of amount of time left. I forgot about that one. This old brain of mine tends to misplace data at times.
