HVX-200 FEATURE on APPLE TRAILERS!

With the prevalence and quality of DSLRs and the ubiquitous RED I can barely recall strapping heavy pieces of metal and glass to the front of my HVX-200. But I did two summers ago.

Now our film "Artois the Goat" has distribution through indiepix and is humbly standing alongside films such as "A-TEAM" and "Hot tub time machine" on the apple trailers website.

Here's a link: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/independent/artoisthegoat/

In 2009 we premiered "artois" at the SXSW film festival but didn't win any awards. Since then we've had some success at a few smaller festivals. I'm just glad that our uber-low budget film (very much under six figures) has done as well as it did and that the HVX-200, Letus Extreme adapter and my dad's old Canon FD lenses held up on the big screen.

Please check it out if you get the chance!

I liked it, especially the part about not speaking french, hilarious build up! Shows what you can achieve with some humble tools.

Very nice quality, the I personally like the HVX200 Letus Extreme combination better than the 5DMKII, but I do love my 5DMKII for the small form factor.

I agree with Douglass the not speaking french was funny.

I remember you posting something on this a while back, congrats on your success! I really like the look and style, really want to see it.
Not sure if you wanted to open a technical discussion but could you tell me what lenses you used? Actually just wondering about the WIDE shot in the bedroom. Ive used wide nikon lenses w a Redrock but they were always AF and I had to wedge something in the iris mechanism and do guess work. Im not too knowledgeable about these old lenses but have been told you cant get a hold of anything wider than 24mm or so without it being auto..? That shot seemed like a fairly wide lens was used so would love to know the specs..

loved it!

It looks FANTASTIC - that night moonlight tree scene on the hill was jaw dropping!

I cant wait to see the full movie - excellent work.

I have a noob question and sorry for not knowing this but on the trailer page you have the option to watch the trailer in 480p, 720p, 1080p.

For the 1080p, did someone upscale the movie/trailer or something? I believed the HVX/HPX only outputted 720p.

Both HVX200 and HPX170 are 1080p capable despite their CCD's being lower rez.
