HVX-200 best possible pixel arrangement and count

I think on the HDX400 it might work because the camera does have progressive chips at 720 60p. The HDX-400 seems to only record 1080i. I'm not sure exactly how they do it but they must use samples from all 60 frames to get down to 30i. Now for the HVX I'm not sure how that would work since it offers 24p and 30p.

720 vertical rez is enough for 1080i, which needs to be filtered down to about 720 anyway to stop interlace twitter. You may as well get the extra sensitivity in this case and not have 1080 v rez. That said, 720 v rez is not enough for 1080p.

Don't forget that unless they make a new standard, they must comply to the DVCProHD codec standard that has been published. I have heard of no new registered data formats from Panasonic.

So in the end it doesn't matter what the CCD can capture, it matters only what is delivered. However they do the calculation on the pixels and then compress it to the standard, I don't know. But if it is DVCProHD then the format is already set.

what are your thoughts....
