HVX 200, and understanding of settings

Could someone give me a brief description of what coring v detail and detail effect image. I need a clean image with limited digital noise in high key lighting situation. Normally I would turn any fancy settings, but are these settings anything to do with gain and gamma etc. Or are they internal colour correction, which is unnecessary and can be turned off? Also is there any auto gain in this camera because in test, I found it was adding gain without me telling the camera to (how would I turn auto gain off?)

Hope someone can help

Thanks

I really actually need to know if I used + Detail coring and and reduced -6 master pad will I get a clear image (an image without digital noise)? Sorry am new to this camera. Is Master pad, same as crushing the blacks?

coring v detail and detail
Those all affect noise. For the most noise-free image you'd turn detail and v-detail to -7, and coring to +7. But you may not prefer the overall image, so you'll have to adjust to taste.

There is no auto gain if you have the auto/manual switch to manual. If you put that switch into auto, then there *may* be auto-gain, it depends on what setting you have for AGC in the AUTO SW menu.

Is Master pad, same as crushing the blacks?
No, but it can be used to get that effect.

Thanks for your response. I'll find that very usefull.

Could you tell me whatt master pad is then, because i heard it can drastically effect your final image without evidence of this on the lcd or view finder, and a monitor is not always available.

Just trying to get my head round these settings which seem to be only applicable to panasonic cameras.
