HVX-200 and Firestore Corrupt Files

When I'm transferring footage from the Firestore through my Macbook Pro I have some corrupt footage which I'm sure is due to the poor firewire connection that the HVX and the firestore have while recording in the field. I guess I have a few questions. Does the Repair Files feature of the Firestore actually work? I find that when I transfer corrupt footage it causes problems for the Mac's operating system when copying. Basically corrupt file transfers freeze and then I'm not able to cancel that file transfer. Does anyone have a fix to that? Either a way to force a corrupt file transfer to stop the copy process or a way to make corrupt files copy cleanly no matter what?

I'm also wondering if anyone knows if Focus or Panasonic or any other manufacturer has put out a reliable connector for the firewire 4-circuit connection located on the HVX-200. I already have an elbow joint but I'm wondering if there's perhaps something that locks in or something like that.

For the most part this post is a question as to whether any other users have any suggestions or updates about the unreliable Firewire connection between the FS-100 and the HVX (because of the 4-circuit connection on the HVX)?

Sorry about your issues.
Yes, the repair clip feature works well on the FS-100. If you find you have corrupt clips on import, repair the clip in the Firestore and re-import. I've only had very few corrupt clips after many hours (and over a year) of use and find this works great. A friend had success on a stubborn clip by "repairing" twice.

As for the Firewire connector on the HVX, I think we're all just hosed by Panasonic. There are links here on dvxuser to 3rd party connector/savers for the firewire cable. A forum member, Siniarch, makes a great, solid adapter that holds the headphone and firewire cables pretty secure to the camera body. (I have 2 and leave them permanently attached to my cables).

Hope this helps.

Let me just leave a caveat...
If you lost power or complete FW connection while shooting, your clip may be irreparable as the data would've been interrupted while recording. Makes sense but is no consolation, I know.
