HVX 1080i isn't recordning sound

Does anyone know why an HVX205a wouldn't be recording sound when shooting at 1080i? I get no sound levels at all from mic input or from internal mics. I normally shoot 720p24pn and everything works fine. Over the weekend I tried to shoot 720p30pn and found the same issue of no sound levels. Is this a firmware update I need or what?
 
There is no valid reason that it wouldn't record sound in 1080i.

The only time sound gets disabled is if you're using 720pN at a variable frame rate.

So, just do the usual checklist -- make sure your line/mic switches and phantom power switches and int/ext switches are all set the way they should be, and it should work.
