Have a client that wants all the raw vision dumped to HDV so was looking at a HVR-1500A so I can use the HD-SDI input. There will be 2 to 3 hours of vision at a time so would really like to avoid using the comp.
Has anyone actually done this yet? I know in theory it should work but wanted to make sure before I buy the machine.

May I ask why on earth he would want this? I assume he trying to cut the file sizes? If so Id go to a QT output instead.

I think he is a HDV nut and wants it all on the same format. I do know that he owns a couple of Z1s
