Humming?

Hello,

Long time reader, first time poster. My one year warranty ended a few days ago. Suddenly, my dvx100a has started to hum. It's not the heads ... nor is it the zoom motor - but some motor or fan inside the dvx is making an audible humming sound.

Any ideas about what that could be would be greatly appreciated.

Obviously I'll need to take it in to be fixed. I live in Los Angeles. Any ideas on where to go to get it fixed for a reasonable price?

Thanks so much.

Maybe it's humming because it doesn't know the words.

I'm sorry; that just slipped out.

Is the hum audible on your recorded audio tracks, too, or just to your ear when the camera is on? I don't think there are any fans inside the dvx...Does the pitch of the hum change when you roll tape?

The humming is audible on my audio tracks - the pitch does not change when I roll tape. Clearly I should get a lyric book.

Thanks

They won't work with me. I even brought it to dvexpo and they were no help. I guess I'll just have to take it in and see how much it costs to fix. Any suggestions of places to take it?

Thanks
