Huge project

I am new to after effects and I rendered an 8 minute clip and it was over 9 GB. It was 1080 30p I have no idea why it is so large. Can someone give me some ideas? Thanks!

What were your output codec settings?
DVCPro 1080/30p is roughly 100MBps which is 1GB per minute. 8 minutes would be about 8GB. Animated settings would be even higher.
If you're looking for smaller file sizes, consider a compressed codec or one that matched your project settings.

Cineform HD. I wanted to put it on vimeo and maybe burn a Blu-Ray Disc. And when I use Dynamic Link from PPro it asks if I want to use drop frame or non drop frame. Which one is better? Thanks!

Cineform HD is an intermediate codec - generally used for editing (and mastering, I suppose).
But if you want something to upload to vimeo you need to render out a much more highly compressed codec.

Something based on H.264 encoding would be your best bet, probably.

For best quality you do want to render uncompressed, quicktime animation, or Tiff Sequence (with LZW compression) for your master. This file will be huge, but thats OK, storage is cheap. Then use adobe media encoder (or another compression program) to convert the master file into your more compressed delivery format(s) using a 2 pass method. The reason you don't use after effects for delivery is that it can't do 2 pass encoding, which is important for good quality intraframe codecs such h.264.

What is a good 2 pass codec? Thanks!
