Huge Problem Here!

I was running some tests for a friend shooting with the hmc150 and taking it to fcp and please have a look at this clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBrmvQcVdsQ

look to the right, I have no idea what those digital artifacts are, but here is the real kicker, only fcp causes this artifacts
I put the same flash card into a windows computer that has AVCCAM Viewer and guess what, those artifacts are not there, and I also looked at the original footage through the actual camera and they are not there, so fcp is causing this
I am at the log and transfer window and I can see the artifacts there, I am running the latest version of FCP

Any ideas on why FCP would see these artifacts?

mmm.. on the release notes of fcp 6.0.5 it saysL
Support for Panasonic AG‑HMC150/155 Series Camcorders

Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 provides additional support for the Panasonic AG‑HMC150/155 video camcorder series PH mode, including all 720p, 1080i, and 1080p formats at up to 24 Mbps.

someone please some ideas?

I think that there is an update which improves compatibility.

I presume you're transcoding to Pro Res then? Do the artifacts consistently come up everytime you bring the source files in?

yeah I am transcoding to prores, but it was just one time on one clip, weird yes

unacceptable nevertheless

any ideas?

I haven't brought anything into FCP, but I've tested Voltaic HD's transcoding to Pro Res a handful of times and did happen upon one clip that was heavily artifacted, much worse than the one in the video you posted. I can't recall if I had any other programs running when I was converting, but some odd anomaly no doubt.

Yeah, although I've been using Cineform's Neo Scene and no problems other than getting that thing registered.

Heads up- this nasty business happens in FCE4 log and transfer as well(AIC)...I have found that if I transcode with Toast 9.0.2 (not 9.0.4) the footage seems OK and free from issues.

Thanks to matt. s for the toast 9.0.2 suggestion

so the latest toast does not do a good job?

Toast 9.0.2 seems to be OK ....BUT.....you must avoid the update to 9.0.4. Otherwise you will be unable to transcode 720/24p correctly.

With Toast 9.0.4, 720/24p audio is out of sync when converted.

I have not tried Toast 10. Best O' Luck...
