So the SD slot on my FS700 lost the pins from someone putting a card in backwards. I was able to track down the SD card module on the phone with sony parts, a little over $110 shipped for the part which I thought was very reasonable. The procedure is moderate, it involved removing the 4 sides of the back "square" of the camera. The SD card module has a small battery on it which I had to replace. Getting the tiny ribbon cables back in was the only pain in the procedure.
Something I noticed while I had the camera apart. There is an empty space, about the size of a large Sony L brick, right behind the spot where the battery goes. It is behind the light gray metal and is completely hollow inside. Just thought this was interesting. Perhaps some other battery was scraped early in the design.

Another thing wrong with my FS700 was the HDSDI port appeared to be broken as it would only work when pushing in a certain spot on the cable. I cleaned the front and back of the HDSDI port with electronic cleaner and then sprayed it out with a lot of canned air. Afterwards, the port is completely solid, it won't glitch at all even when tugging on the cable. My guess is there was a tiny piece of metal shorting the ground and video signal. Those HDSDI ports are build durable in this case it just needed a good cleaning and it was back to 100%.
