HPX500 Footage

Hey everybody!

I've been shooting with the HPX since July and thought I would post some of the early footage for you to see.

I am shooting for the Washington State Tourism Office traveling around the state to collect B-Roll footage. These shots were put together right after I shot them in August because the Today Show had requested B-Roll of Wheat. They ended up using 9 different shots in the Amber Waves of Grain segment of the series they produced called America the Beautiful.

This footage was shot at 1080p/30fps with the kit Fujinon 17x2 CAC lens

Please excuse the edit... it was thrown together so the Tourism people could see what the footage I sent looked like....

The music is House on a Hill a Seattle band that recently transplanted to NYC

I would love to check it out, but I'm on a PC and I think you used the funky codec that only Mac's can read.

When I attempt to load it, it just sits there with the QT logo up on the screen and no vid.

Hmmm... I know people with PCs have viewed that clip... It's encoded as a H.264 file. Perhaps your QT needs an upgrade? Or you might try right clicking to download to disk... or maybe my server is just being slow... the file is 88mb

Finally!!! This is the cleanest HPX500 footage I've seen so far anywhere online (if anyone knows of any more please let me know) Really impressed with the look of the footage. xianchi, were you using any filtration (ND's. POL's etc)? The dynamic range seems to have been kept in check beautifully.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks everybody!

In answer to the questions...
I was using just a polarizer. The scene file was also zero'd out completely as I didn't really have time to learn the camera before I started shooting on this project the next day, so I figured safe and flexible rather than cringing in a corner later. I should also note that no color correction of any sort was done to the footage... just straight as straight can be from the camera.

I didn't keep the full rez file but I am in the process of bringing in footage from the last 6 months and will post a 720p highlight reel of sorts when its ready.
