HPX500 and SDX900 Comparison

Hi,

Has any one tested the HPX and the SDX side by side in DVCpro50 mode?

I have done some research and I am still not sure if the HPX has the same chip set as the SDX.

I realize the menus are different but I am wonder how well they would match as an A and B camera or if the client could even tell the difference.

Is there any quality difference in the two cameras shooting in DVCpro50 one going to tape and one to P2?

Thanks

Rick

Hi,
the DSP of HPX it very difrent from the SDX so that make realy a big difrence. The gamma curve of HPX special made four nightshooting and with all the rest cine gammas.
The CCD it a new one, a SDX upgrading, not the same.
The are no diferences in image quality P2 vs tape in DVCPRO50 format.
The new DSP and CCD are on demand.
Go on SD gamma in HPX and some manual setups to go close to SDX.

Thanks for the reply.

So how is the DSP different between the two cameras?
I understand about pixel shift for HD but in standard def is it that different?

"The CCD it a new one, a SDX upgrading, not the same"

So similar/improved chips to SDX - So in DVCpro50 I can't imagine there being any lack in quality as compared to SDX? If anything is it a possible improvement?

Anyone shot them as A and B camera?

Thanks for this info
