HPX500 and firewire on win xp

Hello,

did anyonce try connecting hpx500 via firewire to a pc computer with win xp sp2?

i tried to connect to 2 different pcs, if i turn on just the cam or mcr mode, pc sees the device fine and works, though if i swtich to PC mode, PC goes BSOD...

any suggestions? offloading via USB is same speed as dv tape..

Firewire device mode is not guaranteed to work with Windows, so don't use it. USB mode should be about the same speed as firewire anyway. You should be able to transfer a full 16GB card in about 10 minutes. If it's taking much longer than that, you must have something haywire with your USB setup; make sure you're connecting directly to a USB2 port and not through a USB1 port or some sort of USB hub or something.
