HPX370 for broadcast sports

As an ENG shooter, I would like to get into shooting sports highlights for the networks. But, I heard a couple of things. First, the networks will not hire a cameraman without 2/3 inch chip cameras, which is the broadcast standard. I can't get some network gigs with my rig due to this reason. Second, the CMOS chips make too much skew for fast-action panning, and following, which is very prevalent when shooting sports highlights. That's why NFL network is going with the HPX500's

I am looking at purchasing a 2/3" chip camera. It looks like the HPX2000, which is a P2 version of the HDX900, is a pretty good choice. I was also looking at the P2 Varicam, but it looks like the HPX2000 can be found used for much less money.

Anybody use the 2000?

For what it's worth, I saw an MSG Varsity cameraman shooting high school football with a 370.

I've seen many sports clips shot on 1/3" and cmos camcorders, so it's not technically out of the question to use them, but I guess there might be limitations...

The HPX2000 is a very nice camera if you can get a good deal on it, but it won't offer too much over a 500 if you're going to be recording to DVCPRO, so you might want to pick one up with the AVC-I option board. Also, it weighs a ton.
