I have some problems choosing camera maybye someone could help me to choose?
I will mostly choose event, corporate. I need two cameras.

Mostly shooting just overview with second camera. I must be able to shoot both PAL and NTSC.

I´m vieving this options:

2 HPX370
1 HPX370 and one AF100
or
1 HPX370 and one Sony FS100

what would you choose?

Or would you pick other cameras around 7000 USD?

Thanks!

Keep in mind that there will be extra costs associated with the HPX370. Batteries and a charger will be more expensive, and P2 isn't cheap.

Yes I know, but I do not need to buy any lenses. Mostly intrested if HPX is a good buy or if I might should go for two AF100?

IMO, the FS100's single card slot is a non-starter for events.

I like the flexibility of reasonably matched small chip and large chip cameras in a 2-cam package as opposed to two of the same camera.

Have you considered the HPX250 or AC160 as an alternative to the 370? Only you know if you need P2 or don't, or if you'd be better-served with an external recorder you could use on either camera.

Unless you need a shoulder-mounted form factor, I would say that the HPX-250 is a better option for you than the 370. And I wouild go for 2 of those instead of adding on an FS-100 or AF-100. Unless you're planning to do narrative work instead of just corporate/events.

Yes I´ve been looking at HPX250 as well but it seems a bit small and I do sometimes have it on my shoulder then I have to struggle with a rig, on the other hand HPX250 has autofocus that might be handy sometimes.
Maybye one HPX250 and a HPX370? If I want to have DOF fotage I can use my GH2.

That would be a great combination, and would be a lot easier to match up in post than any of the other combinations you've listed.

Yes I think this will be the combo I´m looking for, one quick easy cam and a bigger for shoulder, also I can use HPX250 on a glidecam as well.

If you need two cameras, don't need to ever have more than one be shoulder mount at any given time, *don't* need shallow depth of field, and can spend the bucks on P2 and the batteries for the HPX-370, the HPX-370/250 combo sounds like a real winner. I mean, if shallow DoF was a non issue, that's what I would go for if I had the cash.

I agree completely. P2 card workflow is the only "issue" with this, but really, that's not an issue, just something to plan/budget for.

If you did plan to do corporate interviews and such, the AF100 is a fantastic choice and the match pair for that is the AC160. These would be AVCHD/SD card based, but still a great combo. Lower data rates but still high quality. GREAT battery life as well. Might be a combo to consider.

But if you want a shoulder camera for some work, the HPX370/250 sounds like a great team!

Shallow DOF is a non-issue in anything but narrative shooting (and even then it's not always a given). The only way it is in an issue in event shooting is if you MUST HAVE a different look than what is typical.
