Hi all, I've been reading this forum for a few weeks, as I'm about to obtain two HPX300s for a multi-camera shoot. After doing a lot of research, I can't seem to find a simple yes or no answer to a location monitor setup.
I need a client presentation setup, so they can approve shots during production. Space is limited, but I can setup an area that can hold two 22" Dell 2209WA monitors for this purpose. My intent is send the HD-SDI signal from the two cameras to two BlackMagic HDLink boxes, which will convert the signals to DVI-D (which is the only input on the Dell monitors).
The reason I like this idea, is because that particular monitor model is fantastic (it's an IPS panel, with a huge viewing angle, excellent color reproduction, and a steal at $299 each). Since I'll be shooting 720p(59.94), the 1680x1050 native resolution should be fine.
Any reason why this isn't a good idea? I can't afford two native HD-SDI LCD monitors, and the only other option I can think of is to adapt the DVI output of the HDLINK to HDMI (or buy the AJA SDI->HDMI converters), and find two inexpensive LCD TVs (which won't look nearly as good as the Dell monitors).
Any help would be appreciated.
