HPX250: HPX250 as a crane camera

I have an HPX170 and an HPX300. The 170 I use on my crane and as a B Camera. I am seriously considering upgrading the 170 to the 250 as it will match the 300 better. I know the HPX250 will be fine to put on the end of the crane, but before I do this is there anything I am not thinking of that would cause me issues using the HPX250 as my main crane camera? Issues with the CMOS and skew particularly.

Thanks for any insight I might have overlooked.

The only issue I can think of is if you were going to rely on auto focus. It does have some issues with that. If you are mainly booming on wide shots and leaving focus at infinity -- no problem. If trying to do complicated moves with actors walking around where you need to shift focus on auto probably -- wouldn't work as well. 250 needs manual focusing like the HPX300 (which doesn't have auto focus)

Well, consider that unlike the 300/370, you can remote focus the 250. You can get a Varizoom or other focus controller and an extension cable and control focus that way. I've done this many times with the DVX/HVX; I would never leave a jib arm camera on autofocus!

Well that's discouraging. It takes the 250 out of consideration for event work, which in all respects it's seems ideally suited for.
I use the HPX250 for events all the time. I just manually focus it. Love the camera. And the auto focus does work in adequate light. It has issues in low light areas.
