HPX200 workflow

Hi,

I've shot with one for the first time and now I have a bunch of files in my firestore disc that I don't know how to read/import them!

When I open the video folder in the firestore, I see that the video files have a .MXF entension but FCP doesn't seem to recognize them!

I've selected both DVCPRO 50 and DVCPRO HD codecs with no sucess whatsoever.

Can anyone help a newbie to import footage from a HPX to FCP?

Thanks a lot

If you shot with a firestore you should be able to arrange p2 in the firestore. Then you copy over the contents folder from the firestore.

In FCP you go to log and transfer and point it to the contents folder. Drag all the clips down to the queue and in a few minutes you should be good to go.

Did you perform the organize P2 operation on the Firestore? If not, do so. Transfer the contents and last clip text clip file to your media hard drive. When that is completed go into Final Cut>File>Log and Transfer. When the log and transfer window opens direct the operation to the contents file on your hard drive. The video files will be loaded into the log and transfer window. Select which ones you want to send to Final Cut, place them in the queue and Final Cut does the rest. All of this is covered either in your operations manual or you can find directions on the Focus Enhancements website.

A word of advice: make sure you know and understand your workflow before entering into a project.
