HPX171e USB Problem

Hi

I've just bought this camera so am an utter newb but when trying to install the P2 drivers I get as far as selecting 'HPX170' from the driver list. (I know thats different from my 171e but its the only option on the list) The computer then asks me to ensure my 171e is connected (which it is) I then click ok and the menu blinks back to asking me to ensure the camera is connected. In device manager the computer can see it's there but merely as 'unknown device'

Is the HPX170 in "PC" mode?

well...the camera won't let me select PC mode.

I have a feeling I'm doing something very silly aren't I?

BTW I've ordered your book. I guess if I got that before the camera I wouldnt be here posting this!

Use the "mode" button to go to MCR mode, then hold that "mode" button down for 3 more seconds and it'll go to PC mode, and then the drivers should install.
