HPX171e slo mo question

Hi there

I've only ever used Sony cameras to film with but now have my lovely new hpx171e and quite simply am blown away by it. I am still a bit of a newb so would appreciate some advice.

I plan to film a music promo and have always made use of the double speed playback then slowdown in post trick, it's a simple effect but when used well is quite pleasing. I'm going to shoot at 24fps so my questions is do I

a) Still film the double speed playback at 24fps and slowdown in post?

b) Crank up to a higher frame rate and slow down in post?

I have to admit I've not tested my workflow yet (no time!) but am fairly sure if I do b) avid will complain about different frame rates in a 24p project

Any help gratefully received

Thanks!

Why don't you use the 24pn mode and set your camera in film mode In the s ene file to choose your shooting framerate? By doing so you will be able to create a great slowmo without any post prodiction needed, the playback on the camera will allready be in slowmo. You can do more than 50%of th speed like that.

V.
