HPX170 Scene File Help

Hello,

I'm having a heck of a time being able to edit my own scene files from a text editor.

I've followed the instructions from Panasonic, including formatting the card and nothing seems to be working.

Here's what I've been doing:

I've been taking the scene files from Barry's HPX book and loading them onto the card. All goes well and I'm able to access the scene files just fine.

Then I take the same scene files and go into a text editor and manually alter different parameters. When I load the card back into the camera, only the titles have changed, and all of the parameters from the previous scene files stay the same.

I've tried leaving the titles the same and only editing one parameter, but still it does not communicate to the camera.

Any help with this would be awesome!

Hello again,

I figured it out.

Turns out you don't only have to edit the parameter number that shows up in the camera (i.e. Detail Level: -5), but there's also a number to the left of the parameter in the text file that is the internal camera code for that setting. The coded number is based on the complete scale of the regular parameter (i.e. Detail Level -5 = code number 3 because -7 through +7 is a scale of 15). How wonderfully complicated.
